Can someone with severe ADD learn to meditate?

Learn to meditate

Also, I’d like to try automatic writing. I know automatic writing takes a lot of focus. Is it possible?

The brain is confusing, but ADD isn’t a myth. I’ll admit that many obnoxious kids get misdiagnosed with ADD, but that’s not the case for me. I’m quiet and obedient, but I often involuntarily space out for minutes at a time, get distracted by the sound of pencils writing and etc.

ADD is a myth. I am paraplegic, and it is a real condition.

Of course it is possible. You may need to have some type of stimulation in the background so that you can only focus on the task at hand. Music or static can help you focus on just the project on hand.

Yes, but there can be no distractions. Try practicing keeping your mind focused.

add is real, but you can work through it and possibly get meds. it is possible for you to meditate, and even do automatic writing. dont worry, just practice and you can always talk to a therapist!

ADD is anything but a myth. I know, I have it. Sitting still and staying focused for any period of time is extremely difficult. I have been able to meditate some but only if I get plenty of sleep and do yoga first. Otherwise I would have to do it in 30 second increments.
I would also highly recommend avoiding the meds at all cost. They are horrible. I found marijuana was relaxing and helped me to focus when used in small quantities. The problem there is that it is illegal and not worth the risk.
I found the most important thing to me was to get at least 8 hours of sleep. The more I get sleep deprived the more my symptoms manifest.
Like right now we have a 6 old baby. I don’t think I have ever been this sleep deprived and I don’t think my symptoms have been this bad since I was a teenager.
