Or even tried them for that matter? The reason i ask is that they have reportedly been used with children and have increased focus…also have been used with the elderly and have had good results.

Just wondering what everyones thoughts and opinions are.
As always, respectful answers only.
Thanx for answering!
To Elizabeth: Meditation does NOT come from an untrue religion, it is merely a form of quieting the mind to hear the word of God. And yes, my children and i do pray, however not to jc, whom i consider to be a wonderful man with a great message, but am somewhat disappointed by his followers.

I’ve used a mandala once or twice. Maybe I should try again… I love the art quality of them and have gotten wrapped up in that, more than meditating.
For me, I’ve found that gently moving music works or a candle flame.

No, I would never teach a child to meditate. Why teach them something that comes from untrue religion? Teach them how to pray to Jesus Christ. Spending time in prayer is not only something meaningful but also builds a relationship with the Creator. What more could you ask for?
(And, yes, studies have shown that people who pray have calmed and seen prayers answered.)

Yes, I have used my mandala for meditation; it is so much better than words or trying to be a blank slate or watching my thoughts or even following my thoughts.
It centers me, wonderfully. Looking at the Beauty, Symmetry and Geometry of my mandala… The orderliness and so on allows me to ’sink into’ the experience.
Did you know that philosophy (one twig) has tried to show that God’s reality is geometrical and mathematical?
Regardless, I like meditating with my mandala. I’ve had a ’special one’ for past several years.

While I have a large picture of Nelson Mandela in my study, I have never thought of using it as an aid to meditation. I must give it a try!

I like to color Mandalas as a way to just tune into one thing at a time. Just focus in on just one color one motion of my hand. It has a very calming effect.
