Have you had a spiritual experience in a labyrinth?

A Labyrinth, not to be confused with a maze, is a medieval meditation tool. Some of the first labyrinths were discovered in Crete. There is only one path…to the center, and the same path to exit so your thoughts can be centered on your purpose and not on getting lost. Early churches placed labyrinths in their vestibules to encourage centering before entering the church. In the past few years, there has been a researgance of this wonderful…peaceful meditative tool.

Our church has had a few temporary labyrinths in the past couple of months. The first one that I attended I felt like there was a release of burden from my shoulders. The second one made me feel just good going thorugh it and now our church has painted one on the cement of our courtyard. I have yet to walk the one on the cement but I am hoping that it is a good experence.

the church up the street where i used to live has one, for years i walked past and seen the little sign WALK THE LABYRINTH,so i finally went in, they had it painted on a huge tarp so i walked it,pretty cool. when i was doing Tia-chi the next day i thought about giving it a try on the labyrinth and a few days later did, wow like it was made for it , started and ended in the same place. been back many times since and took a lot of people with me. since i moved a few years ago i haven’t been back. thanks for reawakening the memory.
