Prayer is talking to God, meditation is listening to God.

Since there are no real gods, it is pretty much the same thing. Though, I think meditation is more relaxing.

If you think your a Christian, you might want to make sure.
As soon as you’re sure, I don’t think that you’ll have to ask this question again.

Yes, there’s a difference. I honestly don’t understand how you can meditate “to” god. But whatever works for you, I guess.

Prayer is communication with God. Meditation is thinking about something in-depth, and focusing on something. “Meditate on God’s Word” means to contemplate it, find the answers (hint: God has all the answers… ask Him).

Meditation is a time of reflection, right? Prayer is communication with God, so when you are only praying, you are not sharing with God what is on your heart, or prayer needs for others. While you need that time of meditation and reflection, don’t give up on the prayer time. Otherwise you are losing out on a wonderful communication time with God. You’re open to listening to God, but don’t close the door on sharing with him as well.

Vocal prayer and Meditation are different to a degree, both are of great value but meditation is a higher form of prayer, St.Augustine siad that when we sing to God we pray twice, in a sense this applies to meditation too, the heart, mind and soul are in greater tune with God and the if Meditation is practiced as a discipline over a long period it can lead the soul into the highest form of prayer,Contemplation`

They have certain elements of similarity in that both attempt to focus the mind in order to achieve benefits. But Easterners have pushed the idea further and concentrate on self-knowledge through meditation. Meditation is a series of techniques aimed at gaining concentration, relaxation, self-awareness and ultimately (at least when used in a religious context) enlightenment.
Typically, meditation focuses on the breath, or inner body states, or a mantra; something neutral that will allow the person meditating to shut out the outside world and maintain concentration. As such, it doesn’t attempt at any specific idea. This is what differentiates it from prayer, which selects a particular object to concentrate on; a God one is praying to.

It depends which god you’re praying to.
I see you’ve capitalized Christian,and you’re not sure if you are ?
You are or your not. There is no gray area here.
I’m a Christian and I pray /meditate to God Almighty. Meditate means to think on,ponder for a length of time. However we can pray without ceasing as well. This question is the very reason we’re to examine ourselves daily to make sure we’re still in the Faith.
You try Broccoli.
You’re either serving God of Heaven and earth or satan.
Choose God and make heaven your home.

meditation is making your mind blank - supposedly waiting for a still small voice (some christians claim that doing that allows a demon to enter you), and praying is of course talking to god.
I have also heard that if you talk to god you’re religious, if you claim that god talks back to you then you’re schizophrenic.

No, they are very different.
Praying is attempting to communicate with a deity.
Meditating is working with the mind either to improve its stability or to increase awareness of reality.

Prayer: We always hold an object for prayer like God, Deity, or Guru.
Meditation: Initially we may hold some object, but in the deep level, we give up all objects and reach complete silence. Enlightenment is when we reach thought less state during meditation.
If we pray deeply, there may be a possible to disappear both subject and object and slip into deep meditation.

Prayer is done when we seek something from the god or thank him
Meditation is an effort to reach him
