meditation is self hypnotism - how to better deal with STRESS?
some thoughts, dispute them plz..
I hear many advises which say meditation relieves stress. I feel this is false because meditation just numbs your stress by ignorance. You train your mid to ignore whats happening in your surrounding. I fear this might be harmful to you in the long run because you might loose you natural instinct to feel and sense things.
Rather why not just sweat out by doing some kind of exercise( sports, jogging), then relax with a small nap. I feel sweating out, deals STRESS in a complete deferent way.
1) By occupying yourself in a much physically demanding work you divert your thinking and
2) your mind might end up feeling that the stress you had felt are nothing compared to what you experienced while playing a physically demanding sport.
On the contrary, meditation might deal stress better in people who work in very physically demanding work.

Meditation is a way to train yourself to calm down and relieve the stress. It will in no way desensitize you to what is going on but instead will help you focus. Research has proven that uncontrolled stress affects the body in harmful ways and overtime can result in heart conditions, etc. Exercise can help tremendously by raising serotonin which is a natural “drug” produced by the body. An added benefit, exercise can help deal with depression. It is recommended that getting up and doing something even as simple as walking is one of the best things to do to benefit a depressed person. You don’t need to join a gym just walk briskly. Some malls are allowing people in early to do this. They even have a name for them “Mall Walkers”. If someone cannot do this, there are books on Isometric Exercise that
exercises parts of the body with little or no time to actively exercise, but still give some benefits. Minor changes in lifestyle can also aid in stress reduction. Sleep habits, eating habits, and altering hours of work if doing a lot of overtime are some of the things that can be worked on.

Meditation doesn’t work by ignorance. It is relaxing, if you can let yourself do it. Actually it creates a greater sense of awareness of your body by blocking out external things.
