well thinking about things that don’t matter is the first step in meditation. i’ve had this problem too, let these thoughts play out until your mind quiets… then the real meditation will begin.

I only do it at night since it’s the only time I can relax. Just find a comfortable position and concentrate on your breathing, after a few minutes you should be able to clear your mind. I agree that herbal tea can help also.

sounds strange but…….. at first (untill you learn to focus your mind more),record your voice speaking softly and in “mono-tone” of what you want to invision and play it back as you meditate, just were you are barely able to here. It will help keep you focused. Music or certian chants playing in the background sometimes help also.

I try to meditate every morning. I get up before anybody else does, and go sit in my favorite big chair with my morning coffee. After I read some verses in my Bible, I close my eyes, and cleanse my thoughts. I think until all I can see in my mind are clouds floating by on a blue sky. I keep doing this until I get a message from God. Then I write it down in my journal. The key here is to clear your mind and wait. It will come. Grams

Meditation is holistic relaxation excercises.
Since civilized societies began to emerge, meditation has evolved into a structured practice. Although there is not a lot of recorded information dealing with the history of meditation, its roots can be traced back to ancient times.
Some meditation experts suggest thinking of your mind as a glass of muddy water and meditation helps bring clarity. Many forms of meditation result in the clearing of one’s mind.
