Zen meditation is a practice whereby the meditator searches for enlightenment through contemplation of self. It is known as zazen. Below is a link with instructions for undertaking the practice.
It is different from other forms of meditation in that it requires complete freedom (of the mind) from distraction, sitting in silence , and allowing thought to come without any guidance from an external source. Other forms of meditation usually require one to create a picture in one’s mind.

Zen is seeing reality from the conventional reality and investigate the truth of ultimate reality as other forms of meditation see the ultimate reality as conventional form of reality.
