you can learn by looking within yourself.

Sit down (cross legged), make sure your palms are up. Don’t think of anything, instead focus on relaxing. Make sure that the lights are not too bright, but dim.

“Right way”, “free way” in your last Q. It’s just a way. Read a bit, try it out. Be patient. Meditation, like Buddhism, is also a PRACTICE. Literally. Look it up.

There are a lot of ways to meditate, books are sold on the subject. One I learned with was sitting up and breathing, with the breath feeling like being at the lower back, and slowly drawing it up the spine, over the skull, and into the mouth, then exhaling and imagining the energy going down your throat and into the stomach. Great for learning breathing, not so great for keeping the mind clear. Now I start by imagining a coloured ball floating in front of me with my eyes closed. This stops the mind from wandering, and calms you. More advanced techniques are imagining airflow over the ball making it spin as you breathe, as well as inhaling the ball like smoke and exhaling it. The inhaling the ball is more for relaxation.
